DraftKings CEO Jason Robins has told Bloomberg that the daily fantasy sports company would consider transitioning into an online sportsbook in the United States. That’s if there is a change in the federal law banning sports betting in all but four states and single-game wagering everywhere except Nevada.
The U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments in early December on New Jersey’s appeal of lower court rulings upholding the federal prohibition of sports betting.
New Jersey voters approved sports gambling in 2011, but the NCAA, along with the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL, have blocked the state’s efforts to establish sports book in the state.
Robins said DraftKings would consider all of its options should the high court come down on New Jersey’s side, a ruling that is expected to come sometime in early 2018.
