Downtown Grand to offer NASCAR experience

Feb 27, 2014 9:08 AM

Beginning at noon on Friday, March 7, and throughout the entire weekend, the Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and Downtown3rd, encompassing Third Street adjacent to the property, will become a hub of celebration for NASCAR enthusiasts, including the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a genuine NASCAR that has been retrofitted into a racing simulator.

Located just outside the entrance to the Downtown Grand, the NASCAR racing simulator will offer guests immersive experience inside the retired NASCAR vehicle that has been specially outfitted as a two-person competitive simulator. Players will slide behind their respective steering wheel and race against each other on the realistic track that is projected onto the windshield. Spectators will also be able to view the race through the translucent film on the windshield.

Event models will hand out prizes to winners of the racing simulator game as well as other giveaways to visitors on Downtown3rd and inside the hotel/casino.

Also along Downtown3rd will be a food and beverage booth, where visitors will be able to enjoy fare from area restaurants, including Stewart + Ogden, Triple George Grill and The Commissary.

For those looking to commemorate their visit with some ink, Downtown Grand will also sponsor an airbrush tattoo artist who will offer complimentary temporary tattoos to visitors.

Capping off each day will be live entertainment at the Mob Bar beginning at 8 p.m.

Guests who are travelling to Las Vegas for NASCAR and want to stay in the center of it all at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino can still make hotel reservations online at http://www.downtowngrand.com/ or by calling 855-DT-GRAND (384-7263).
