Here comes Cantor to the Palms Hotel Casino

This Friday, Cantor Gaming officially opens the new and improved sports book at the Palms just in time for Saturday’s Kentucky Derby.

Timing is, after all, everything.

The Palms book is the latest in Cantor’s ever increasing family of books that first began with the M resort, its largest venue and hub of operations of operations.

Palms also has a long-term agreement with Cantor Gaming to operate a poker room within its sports book. State regulators approved the plans in January. There will be eight poker tables in the new facility, according to Palms officials.

Lee Amaitis, president and CEO of Cantor Gaming, is confident about his company’s ability to operate both a sports book and poker room.

“There is a natural overlap between sports bettors and poker players, and by situating poker within the sports book we can offer customers maximum entertainment and convenience,” Amaitis said in a statement.

The book will also have all the technology from Cantor’s resources, which stretch from M to the Hard Rock, Tropicana, Cosmopolitan, Venetian and Palazzo, including its mobile wagering technology.

Prior to completion of the book, bettors could place wagers at a kiosk set up between the entrance to the Fantasy Tower and the Mint High Limit Lounge. The kiosk will remain in place after the new sports book opens. The new sports book will have a total of 93 personal betting stations, including 4 VIP seats for racing and 13 VIP seats for sports wagering.
