Horses to Watch at Del Mar

OFFSHORE: May have been best in this five-furlong turf race. He tossed his head at the start and was shuffled back to last in a 12-horse field. He came out at the top of the stretch making a four-wide run but lacked room. Once clear, he made a big late run, finishing fourth and missing by a dwindling length.

MUCH MORE HALO: Maiden was going five furlongs on the grass and once again made a big late run, finishing a clear second. We would love to see this one going a mile on the grass next out. If so, just use as a solid single in the picks.

GUITTY: We used this filly on our daily race selections at She went off at almost 20-1 and made a big five-wide run to close fast, picking up the place money in what was a big effort.

NICE ICE: Was down on the inside and looked loaded but had to wait for room into the stretch. She stormed home to be a clear second and looks to be sitting on the win next out with a clean trip.
