WIN Take 61 Las Vegas Golden Knights / 62 Los Angeles Kings UNDER 5.5
The streaking Las Vegas Golden Knights wrap up their brief two-game Southern California road trip when they visit the LA Kings in a battle of the top two teams in the Pacific Division. Game time is 7 pm PT at Staples Center where the Kings are -150 moneyline favorites. The total is 5.5.
Vegas (24-9-0-2, 9-7 road, 50 points) rolled to its fifth consecutive victory and ninth in 10 games with a 4-1 victory over the Ducks in Anaheim. Shea Theodore, Cody Eakin, William Karlsson and David Perron all lit the lamp while Malcolm Subban made 27 saves. The Golden Knights are not just the top team in the Pacific—two points ahead of LA—but they also lead the Western Conference by one point over Central Division front-runner Nashville.
Los Angeles (22-11-4, 11-5-2 home, 48 points) last skated on Saturday in San Jose where they dropped a 2-0 decision to the Sharks. Defense has been the Kings calling card this season. They lead the NHL in fewest goals allowed per game (2.3) and are first in the penalty kill department (86.5%). They’ve won five straight at home.
Vegas is now 24-11 (+1,572) on the puckline. The Golden Knights are third in the NHL in scoring (3.46 goals per game) and have hit their stride defensively as well. During the course of their current winning skein they’ve held the opposition to seven goals in five games.
Vegas is 4-2 to the UNDER in its last six overall but are still one of the best OVER bets (21-12). The LA skaters are 5-0-1 to the UNDER in their last six against the Pacific Division and 9-1-1 to the low side in their past 11 vs. the Western Conference.
