This Saturday we will see one heck of a scrap between current UFC Lightweight champion, BJ Penn and his very game opponent, Diego Sanchez.
Penn is the favorite at -285. Sanchez is the underdog at +225. Sanchez feels he is already the champion and just needs to beat Penn to get his belt.
I don't think this will happen. Both men can give and take a punch, but Penn's ground game seems to be somewhat unmatchable in the this division. He is always incredibly fit to match. I have seen video of Penn standing in three feet of water in a pool and jumping straight out onto the concrete from a stand still. Please do not try that at home. If Penn doesn't get a late submission, I predict it will go the distance and the decision goes to Penn.
The return of Frank Mir after his loss to current UFC Heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar, should be very exciting. He faces the great striker Cheick Kongo.
Mir is the favorite at -220. Kongo is your underdog at +180.
Kongo is a powerful striker that can easily knock people out with one punch or kick. Because of this, look for Mir to take this fight to the ground where he can use his amazing Jiu Jitsu. I will pick Mir to win this one by way of submission.
One more extremely entertaining fight will be on this card when Kenny Florian faces Clay Guida. Florian is the favorite at -225. Guida is the underdog at +185.
I don't think you'll find a fighter with more enthusiasm or heart when it comes to fighting than Clay Guida. This guy will definitely entertain. However, I feel Florian will come back strong from the loss to current UFC Lightweight champion, BJ Penn and get a tactical win against Guida. This one should be a fast paced fight, but could go the distance. I will pick Florian to win by decision.
Until next week, I hope you cash some tickets.
