It’s time for another round in the ring, or cage as it were, as the CasaBlanca Events Center at the CasaBlanca Resort and Casino, 950 W. Mesquite Boulevard, Mesquite hosts Tuff-N-Uff’s “Mayhem in Mesquite VII,” an amateur mixed martial arts competition that will see some of the best amateur fighters in the West take to the cage Saturday, August 22 at 7 p.m. PDT, 8 p.m. MDT.
Saturday’s event will feature between 10-15 fights, female and male in a venue that lets the audience get up close and personal to the action.
In addition to the fights, a whole slew of activities centered around the main event have been planned at the casino for the weekend, including competitor weigh-ins, a ring girl competition, free concerts, pre- and post- fight parties and more. It all kicks off Friday.
Weigh-ins will begin Friday at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) in the CasaBlanca showroom. This event is free and open to all ages. Come check out the intensity of the fighters as they weigh in and size up their competition.
Ring girl competition and Concert
“Rebel Soul” will rock the showroom stage Friday at 8 p.m. in a free concert hosted by Southern Utah’s KZHK 95.9 “The Hawk.” In between sets, 10 beautiful ladies will strut their stuff in hopes of being chosen as one of the three ring girls for Saturday’s competition.
The “Rebel Soul” concert and ring girl competition are both 21-and-over events.
Saturday’s main event will start at 5 p.m. in the event tent with pre-show activities including meet-and-greets, a selfie station, DJ and highlights from previous “Mayhems” shown on a big screen.
Fights will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now and are $25 in advance for general admission seating and $30 on the day of the fights. Premium seats in the first three rows are $45 in advance and $50 on fight day. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.
Nobody under age 3 is allowed and attendees who are under 18 must be with and adult, 18 or older.
The party will continue after the fights with a free, 21-and-over concert in the showroom performed by “Sin City Sinners.”
Some of the fighters are expected to attend the after-party for meet-and-greets; and video highlights of the fights will be shown on the screens.
“Fight weekend is really positive for the casino, it livens it up,” Prussin said. “If you love fights and want an inexpensive fun weekend you can get a room and a ticket to live fights for $75. The pool is open, the steakhouse, the spa, it’s just fun.”
