Fight week is upon us and the destination is Mesquite, Nevada as CasaBlanca Resort/Casino plays host to the ninth installment of “Mayhem in Mesquite.”
Thus far, the combination of Mesquite Gaming and Tuff-N-Uff has produced an extremely successful promotion that mixed martial arts fans and those in search of a great time have both enjoyed. In fact, although the fight card is deserving of most of the attention, rest assured there’s a lot more in store at Mayhem in Mesquite IX.
It all begins on Saturday afternoon with a pool party from 1-4 p.m., which is free to attend, that features a disc jockey and a chance to meet the ring girls. Then at 6 p.m. inside CasaBlanca Showroom, the weigh-in takes place and once again admission is free for all. Soon as the fighters finish facing off, the ring girl competition begins and it’s followed up with a free concert from the Spazmatics.
Saturday’s action kicks off with a pre-fight party at the Lagoon Pool that goes from 1 to 4 p.m., then the doors at the Casablanca Events Center open at 6 p.m. for the future stars of MMA to do battle inside the cage.
The Mayhem in Mesquite IX fight card is scheduled for 7 p.m. and it’s stacked with many of the sport’s most promising prospects.
Many of mixed martial arts’ most well-recognized and respected gyms get the opportunity to showcase their brightest talents, as UFC Gym, Xtreme Couture, Cobra Kai, and more will be represented. The Tuff-N-Uff promotion has produced many elite fighters and this card has both male and female competitors who aim to be the next champ.
General admission is only $25 in advance and $30 the night of the fight, while cage-side seats in the first four rows can be purchased for $45 in advance and just $50 on the night of. Simply put, that’s what we sports bettors refer to as “value.”
As if all these events planned weren’t enough, there’s even an after-fight party scheduled at 10 p.m. with Saints of Las Vegas performing inside Casablanca Showroom, and once again admission is free. Having had the privilege of attending my fair share of “after-fight parties” of both boxing and mixed martial arts through the years, I can tell you without a doubt those are some of the best “parties” you can ever attend.
Finally, for fight fans this is exactly the type of weekend we live for… packed with entertainment, parties, and of course, action packed bouts. But I can also tell you from my own experiences, you do not have to be a hardcore fan or even a casual fan of mixed martial arts to have an amazing few days.
Mayhem in Mesquite IX is set to provide anyone and everyone with a great time, and it’s an event I’ll continue to recommend as a must if you haven’t been, and one I’m betting you’re attending if you have.
See you in Mesquite… for some gambling, golf, fights, sun, and a great time all around.
