Recapping the Olympics leads to a C minus for Rio 2016

The 2016 Olympics are over and I have a few quick comments.
First, Michael Phelps is the greatest Olympian ever, winning a total of 28 medals, while the U.S. women’s swim team and the women’s gymnastics team were the highlights.
The low lights were Ryan Lochte, who went back to his natural hair color and his “so-called robbery” story. Plus there was Hope Solo with her brutal behavior calling out the team from Sweden who beat them fairly.
The medal count for the U.S. at 121 was tremendous with the track and field squad winning over 30 medals, breaking a record set in 1952. Overall between the venue, the facilities, the green pool, athletes in trouble and no Russia, I give the Rio Olympics a C- …and I’m being kind.
Hooked on UFC
I paid my $59.95 for the Conor McGregor versus Nate Diaz fight in the UFC 202 this past Sunday night in Las Vegas.
I’m hooked! I like that you don’t have to wait for the next fight for an hour and there is much more action in a UFC fight than in boxing.
It was a terrific match and these guys gave the public five 5-minute, butt-kicking rounds of entertainment with McGregor winning three rounds to two.
The fifth round started with McGregor taking it to Diaz, but at the end of the round McGregor got careless and ended up on his back with Diaz over him. How many guys land on their back at the end and still win?
Fight three coming up – stay tuned.
