Horses to Watch

TWOTURNTWO: First time starter trained by the underrated Jay Robbins was let go at the windows at 41-1, he had a wide trip from post position #13 and then made a big six wide move into the stretch and just came storming down the lane to just miss by a dwindling half length. This one could pop next time out at a good price.
FOLK DANCER: Was in from Calder for the hot Vladimir Cerin and was also a release on my daily horse selection on www.gamingtoday.com, this girl got off at better than 11-1 and ran a big time race pulling away at the end paying a very nice $24.80 and keying a rolling double that paid $103.80, she will repeat.
NORVSKY: Looked to be sitting in a good spot down on the inside in this flat mile on the grass but when he came out for room into the stretch he was blocked behind rivals until past midstretch but once clear made a good run losing by a length and a quarter. This guy will pop next time out going long on the grass. $$$$$
IF YOU KNEW SUSIE: If you knew Susie you would have taken a shot with this second time starter at 62-1, she showed big improvement with a nice closing kick finishing third keying a $2,828.50 one dollar tri, if she had only finished second, next time.
MANHATTAN BEACH: Comebacker looked perfectly spotted here and somehow got away at 7-2, this Mare won as much the best and this race served as a good prep for bigger things to come, one to watch as she moves forward. $$$
LAND OF THE GIANTS: Really loved this second time starter running against the odds on Good Measure. Both horses were exiting the same race but Land of the Giants was getting a big time jockey upgrade and you just knew that this Giant Causeway colt would improve big time stretching out to this mile distance. He still was a tad green down the lane but has some big time upside and is still learning. $$$
GOLDEN GATE FIELDS
PREMIER DIABLO: Was chasing the pace but got caught in traffic and was checked hard off heels, he shifted out for room and got going late surging to get up for the win in what was a gutty performance.
MIND THE LADIES: First time starter raced in check while blocked for what seemed an eternity, he found room at the turn and made a quick run to get on even terms with the front runner and just out gamed that one to the wire. This guy could move up and beat winners.
BRUNO’S WAGER: Was very unlucky to lose last time out at the hands of the live first time starter Mind the Ladies but was well clear of the rest of the field and should find the winners’ circle in his next start. $$$
SKIPSHOT: Was last seen running up the track last August at Santa Rosa but this Jerry Hollendorfer trainee came back running today breaking his maiden with ease. This guy is bred to go long so keep an eye out if he gets stretched out in his next start.
