A few Las Vegas Bookmaker Kentucky Derby Selections

Mike Colbert, Cantor Gaming – Union Rags – I think at 4-1 or higher there is good value. Plus, Rags loves Churchill Downs.

John Avello, Wynn Las Vegas – Creative Cause – The horse has been a steady competitor during his 2yo and 3yo campaign. I like horses that stay true to form and I like the way this horse is coming into the race.

Michael Gaughan, South Point – No. 8 – I like the eight horse. Eight is my lucky number.

Jay Rood, MGM Resorts – I’ll Have Another – The strong horses like Union Rags and Bodemeister will be tough to beat, but this horse has a good shot and should be a decent price. I’m a price guy.

Mark Dufty, Jerry’s Nugget – Bodemeister – He seems to be ascending at the right time. I hope he doesn’t go off the favorite because I usually toss out the favorite. But I do like him.

John Salerno, LeRoy’s – Bodemeister – He was strong in Arkansas. He’s a good horse. He’s looking like a Baffert horse.

Joe Asher, Lucky’s – Union Rags/Alpha – Union Rags is a great horse and I think Mike Matz is a fantastic horseman and trainer. They got a tough break in the Florida Derby. Alpha looked good in the Wood and he’s got a decent shot at a price.
