The MGM Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas has its “Mansions,” to serve high-rollers, and Churchill Downs Inc. (CHDN) plans to have its “Mansion” on the upper deck of its Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky, to serve the same purpose.

Announced by the parent company are plans to spend some $9 million to convert the track’s Joe Hirsch Media Center at the historic park into a lavish new viewing area for the wealthy who enjoy the Sport of Kings.

To convert the area on the sixth floor, the company plans to raze the Paddock Pavilion to create an open gathering space with an additional 30,000 square feet and relocate and expand the Gold Room, the area that serves VIP members of the Twin Spires Club.
