Today we say goodbye to Santa Anita as they close out their current racing season and it’s definitely something you don’t want to miss. While we have the $100K G3 Wilshire Stakes, the big money will be going out to the racing fans as they have a mandatory Pick 6 payout with an $821,858.00 carryover!
Bob Baffert’s undefeated Triple Crown Champion Justify, who returned to Santa Anita on Sunday, will be the subject of a beautiful Triple Crown poster which will be given away free with paid admission, to the first 4,000 attendees this Saturday, June 23. Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to sign these posters adjacent to the Kingsbury Fountain, in the West Paddock Gardens area.
Justify, who will parade through Santa Anita’s Paddock Gardens and onto the main track and Winner’s Circle between races four and five on Saturday, will be accompanied in the Winner’s Circle by both Baffert and Smith, who will be available to credentialed media. The collector’s item poster depicts the magnificent chestnut son of Scat Daddy winning the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
In order to accommodate Justify’s appearance on Saturday, Santa Anita has announced there will be an early first post time of 12 noon. Admission gates will open at 10 a.m. for a 12-race program.
