Lucky’s Race and Sports Book has installed odds on the type of hit Derek Jeter gets when he reaches the magic 3,000 mark for his storied career.

The beloved New York Yankees shortstop is 12 away after Wednesday’s 6-4 loss to Boston and now stands at 2,988. Jeter would become the 28th player in major league history first Yankee ever to reach 3,000.

Not Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, DiMaggio or Berra ever reached that milestone. Jeter would also become the first to reach 3,000 hits playing shortstop his entire career.

Cal Ripken surpassed 3,000 with Baltimore, but had switched from shortstop to third base.

Lucky’s odds are:

• 2-7 that the hit will be a single

• 2-1 that it will be a double

• 4-1 that it will be a triple

• 10-1 that it will be a home run.

A month ago, it was projected based on his season stats that Jeter would reach 3,000 on June 20 in Cincinnati. It appears he is ahead of that pace.

The GT projection has Jeter reaching 3,000 at Yankee Stadium against Texas, but it would be special if that milestone occurred at Wrigley Field.

Here’s the Yankees schedule between now and the target dates in Cincinnati.

June 9: Boston at Yankee Stadium

10-13: Cleveland at Yankee Stadium

14-16: Texas at Yankee Stadium

17-19: Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field

20-22: Cincinnati at Great American Ballpark.
