What Caught Our Eye in Baseball

CC Sabathia received a ton of money to leave Cleveland for Milwaukee and to depart the Brewers for the NY Yankees. And how does CC show his kindness? Well, the last few days by burning his bridges. CC polished off Milwaukee in Yankee Stadium and today goes back to Cleveland, where he pitched from 2000-2008. It isn’t quite LeBron hatred, but expect some ‘Bronx cheers’ and a heavy NY price.

You would not have thought so at the start of the season, but Arizona and Milwaukee had identical 45-39 records last weekend. And today, both start lefties who are mirror-images of each other. Veteran Randy Wolf goes for Milwaukee against Zach Duke, who came over to the D’backs from Pittsburgh. The one big factor -- Milwaukee is a major league best 29-11 at Miller Park. However, the secret to Arizona’s surprising success is a 22-20 road record. Neither pitcher throws hard so this could be a run-fest. – Mark Mayer.
