The sports story brewing this week has to do with my kind of action a punch to the jaw.
However this time it was on a baseball diamond instead of in a boxing ring or octagon. Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor landed a perfect overhand right on the chin of Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista in the eighth inning of Sunday’s game.
I like to see a little bad blood in sports, it makes the victories seem that much sweeter. This incident happened in part because of Bautista’s bat flip in Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS, which you can relive right here:
My thoughts are: If the Rangers are mad about Bautista then the next time he’s up strike him out. Don’t hit him with a pitch; don’t throw a punch at second base in a meaningless game. In other words be better than him. These actions make the Rangers look like a bunch of babies.
Last Week: 4-1
2016 Season: 44-37-9.
Reds-Indians OV 8: This probably should have been the 5-inning total. Just kidding… sort of.
Astros-White Sox OV 8.5: Both starters have struggled with ERA’s near or over 5.00. Fact is both guys have major league stuff but just haven’t found it. I think at least one of the two gets this total over with a bullpen or two pushing it far over.
Mariners-Orioles OV 8.5: Both teams can hit and the starters aren’t exactly Jake Arrieta.
UEFA Europa League – Final – Sevilla-Liverpool OV 2.5: It’s Liverpool’s first European final since 2007. I think they get one early and then either the game busts open as The Reds can do or they keep pouring it on the second half.
Stanley Cup Playoffs – Western Conference Finals Game 3 – Blues-Sharks OV 5: Good chance the Sharks will be down 2-0 once this game hits the betting board. Even if San Jose evens the series. I expect this to be one of the highest goal scoring games of the series.
