An Amazin’ collapse

VIP MLB Baseball's Dirty Dozen | The worst MLB teams against the spread coupled with bonehead decisions.
The Miami Marlins actually have hope of leaving the NL East cellar thanks to the New York Mets. Fans of the Amazins will tell you that they start Friday 10.5 games behind the Washington Nationals. Bettors will say they’re only four games ahead of Miami.
The season that began so bright with a franchise record 11-1 start has now been matched by a current 1-11 record over the past 12 games. The Mets are last among 30 teams in batting (.225) and 25th in relief pitching (4.58 ERA). The Dark Knight is now in a Cincinnati Reds uniform, but that may be one of the few things the Mets got right. When Matt Harvey said no to both the bullpen and the minors, the major move out of Queens was made.
With Harvey gone, speculation has popped on social media as to how long Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom will be around. The Mets say neither is going anywhere, but does that really mean anything in this time of fake news? DeGrom is the poster boy for snake-bit. Jake is 4-2 with a stunning 1.55 ERA, and 113 strikeouts in just over 87 innings. He actually was a Cy Young candidate off a 4-0 record a few weeks ago.
