Finally, the NBA Finals

Finally, the NBA Finals

Okay, so here we go. I’m a huge fan of the boys of summer, but there’s no mistake that this time of year is all about the finals, in both the NHL and NBA.

So what’s going to happen in the NBA Finals when the Cavs meet the Warriors in a rematch for the championship?  Many are taking the Cavs, but will it be in 5, 6 or even 7 games?

I’m not so sure, and truth be told I think I’d pay close attention to the first game before I chose a side.  I might even stay away from the totals, too and depending upon what happened in the first game, I’d be more inclined to lay my money down throughout the season.

One of the reasons I’d opt to stay clear of picking a side in the first game, would be due to the delay and rest the players are getting.  If you listened to the experts this week, who were chatting up about the NHL and NBA finals on SportSXRadio (airs on AM 720 KDWN 7-9 pm PST) you already know the reasons.

Remember when it comes to picking teams, these guys pay attention and are offering some expert advice for free.  Listening to the guys who are advising us novice bettors is how I got to be pretty good at picking winners.

Even though I’d stay away from making any prediction right now, my co-host of our weekly podcast, BetsLikeAGirl, has this to say about the NBA:

“In an interview with ESPN, former Boston Celtics Paul Pierce compares Kevin Durant to a kid being friends with bullies to avoid getting beaten up. Is that the reason why he joined Steph Curry and Klay Thompson or perhaps he wanted to give himself the best shot of winning and NBA ring? After all that's the goal isn't it?

My co-host Pamela Michelle (aka @SportyDiva on Twitter) believes the addition of Durant should be enough to put the Warriors over the top to get the job done.

Still, I’m still going to do it and take the Cavs in 7.
