1) Cleveland at Sacramento (NBA Wednesday)

After emotional matchup with Golden State just don’t see the Cavs getting up for playing the Kings. Plus Sacramento almost beat Cleveland, blowing a 14-point lead. SACRAMENTO

2) Missouri -3.5 vs. Texas at Houston (college FB)

A Wednesday bowl matchup in Houston should work well for the Longhorns. Head coach Tom Herman is a super motivator so losing the 2 suspended UT players shouldn’t matter. TEXAS

1) Detroit NL at New Jersey (NHL Wednesday)

Once every seven years the holidays throw us back a day but hopefully we can close 2017 on a winning note. The Devils are on four-game win streak and the Wings are struggling. NJ

2) Ottawa NL at Boston  (NHL Wednesday)

Same scenario in Beantown as the home standing Bruins are riding a four-game winning streak while Ottawa is just 4-9-3 on the road. Sens are over-working Karlsson. BOSTON                Mark Mayer: Last week: 0-2; 2017 season record: 49-50-1
