WIN Take Houston Rockets +1.5 over Boston Celtics LOSS UNDER 216.5
Two of the NBA’s hottest teams square off in Texas where the Houston Rockets take on the Boston Celtics. Game time is 8 PM ET at Toyota Center where the Rockets are +1.5 point dogs. The total is 216.
Houston (18-15, 15-17-1 ATS, 11-5 home) has won seven of its last eight thanks in large part to James Harden who netted 41 in Tuesday’s 111-108 victory over Oklahoma City. He leads the NBA in scoring at a 31.2 per game clip.
Boston (20-13, 17-16 ATS, 9-8 road) has won 10 of its last 13 as it embarks on a three-game road trip. The Celtics beat Philadelphia on Christmas Day 121-114. Kyrie Irving, who is averaging 25 points per game in December, had 40 points and 10 rebounds in the overtime victory against the 76ers.
The trends certainly favor the Celtics who have covered the number in four straight meetings. The underdog is 7-0 ATS in the past seven meetings.
Boston is 4-1 ATS in its last five road games and 10-3 vs. the number in its last 13 overall. Houston is 6-0-1 ATS in its last seven at home and 6-1-1 ATS in its past eight overall. However the Texas club has a 1-7 spread record last eight against the Atlantic Division.
The UNDER is 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Houston and 20-8 in the past 28 meetings.
