N. Dakota Ralph Engelstad Arena to be demolished

Jul 29, 2013 7:04 PM

The “old” Ralph Engelstad Arena on the campus of North Dakota University, is slated for demolition. That’s because the property has been replaced by the “new” Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Engelstad, who made his millions operating the Imperial Palace casino in Las Vegas, was a goaltender for the university’s hockey team in his youth and became one of the school’s largest contributors.

He died in November, 2002.
