VIP College Basketball's Dirty Dozen | The worst College Basketball teams against the spread coupled with bonehead decisions.
Normally you don’t equate the Pittsburgh Panthers with losing basketball. But right now, Pitt is making Rutgers look good.
Bill Walton might say “Worst Basketball Team in the history of the world,” if he wasn’t soaking up Tucson or pondering the latest Grateful Dead tour. The Panthers made our Dirty Dozen panel take notice by mailing in their 14th straight loss – an 81-58 humiliation at home to Boston College. Valentine’s Day is upon us and Pitt hasn’t won a game in 2018. What are they waiting for, Thanksgiving?
Pittsburgh hosts Virginia on Feb. 24. A Virginia / Under parlay waiting to happen. The Panthers did fine in the Big East, but since moving to the ACC along with Syracuse and Boston College, not so much. The program has hit the pits at 8-19 including 0-14 in the conference.
Pitt, once an NCAA tournament mainstay you could pencil in for 20 wins, is on pace to finish winless in conference play for the first time ever, which should make head coach Kevin Stallings a wee bit concerned about his job. In front of the Pittsburgh media, Stallings has repeatedly praised his players both publicly and privately, adamantly insisting, "We will have success here."
