GamingToday contributing writer Chris Andrews will be holding a handicapping seminar in the Mission Bay Room at South Point this Saturday at 10 a.m.
Andrews will be introducing a new research method called SHARPS 101: An Introduction to the Sports Information System.
“The acronym doesn’t really have an origin, I just like how it sounded,” Andrews told GamingToday. “Calling it Sports Handicapping Analysis Ratings Performance Service sounds pretty good to me.”
SHARPS deals with statistical analysis in sports handicapping. It quantifies data into a team’s performance. The system deals with in depth matchup comparisons, comprehensive team stats, score projections, investment recommendations, power ratings and bankroll management.
“It allows you to interject your own analysis to fit with your own methods,” Andrews said. “SHARPS is for everyone whether it’s the professional handicapper or the sports novice.
