Packers fall is a stunning development

Nov 17, 2015 3:00 AM

Much like the Packers, I am licking my wounds this week. A 1-4 performance, who would have thought the Lions would beat Green Bay at Lambeau Field? For those who don’t know, that is the first time the Lions won at the legendary stadium since 1991, it took 24 years!

Going back to the drawing board, let’s stay with what had been my bread and butter up until this past weekend – the NFL.

Last Week: 1-4-0

Season: 7-8-0

Wild-Penguins OVER 5: After two full days off for both the Wild and the Penguins, they should have fresh skates and some extra incentive to put the puck in the back of the net. With only three overs all year, Pittsburgh is due for a shootout.

Colts-Falcons OVER 47.5: Nothing can help a team more than a bye week. In this case we get two teams coming off a bye, as the Falcons return home after back-to-back embarrassing losses to Tampa Bay and San Francisco. Atlanta comes out flying.

Chiefs-Chargers OVER 44: This total doesn’t make sense to me and maybe that’s a bad thing or a really good thing. San Diego has been decimated by injury and luckily had the week off; the Chiefs meanwhile embarrassed the Broncos and put themselves back into the AFC West hunt. I see this game going one of two ways, the Chargers get blown out and the Chiefs nearly cover the total by themselves – or we get a shootout by the beach.

Bills-Patriots OVER 48: With the Giants in the rearview mirror the Patriots look like a team that will go undefeated. They have done it once, why can’t they do it again? I personally think New England blows the door off the Bills Monday night and Tom Brady almost throws enough TDs for the over.

Broncos-Bears OVER 41.5: It looks like the Peyton Manning era could be over in the Mile High City but heading to the Windy City the question becomes is Brock Osweiler a starting QB? The Bears, fresh off a demolition of the St. Louis Rams, head home amazingly only two games out of a Wild Card berth. However, I think the Broncos will actually fare better with a healthy QB and while the Bears will manage some points, look at Denver to score the majority.
