Eagles won't dare, and the Giants will be victorious tonight

December 22, 2016 9:50 AM

There is no division title on the line, and it’s not as though the Eagles have any thoughts on playing in the postseason, but that does not mean they will not bring it on tonight when the New York Giants head to Lincoln Financial in Philadelphia.

Normally this game would matter more. Then again, when you’re in Vegas every game matters more.

The line opened with the N.Y. Giants -3 favorites and a total of 42. The Giants figure to stay a slight favorite and the total remain steady. The Giants do not put numbers on the board, or at least not in the way some of their opponents manage to do so.

In 2016, thus far, they have averaged under 20 points per game with their high being 28 in Week 9, against the Eagles. The Eagles also manage to score on average of about 20 ppg, but have underperformed in recent weeks. Their hopes for a stellar season after starting off strong out of the gate, have faded. They also tend to end on the losing side of the equation.

This is a rivalry and the teams in the Northeast care about the outcome even if it’s just for bragging rights. The Eagles have tonight’s game against the Giants before they face Dallas in their last game of the year. Should they win both there is something to feel good about during the offseason, but do not bet Philly to come out victorious.

Things just have not been going their way, and momentum is on the side of the Giants, coming off of a big win last week against the Detroit Lions. Look for that momentum to continue throughout this evening.

The game time is 5:25 p.m. PT, at Lincoln Financial Field and will be broadcast on NBC, NFL-Network and streamed online on Twitter and NBC Sports Live.

Prediction: Giants, 27-17

Encore: Remember if you’re in Vegas, come by Steiner’s Pub and hang with us.  There are great prizes given away throughout the game, and lots of TNF fun!  I’ll be at the S. Las Vegas Blvd., location tonight at game time!
