Falcons losing helps improve Chargers-Patriots line

Well it’s a 2-1 Over week as the Patriots and Falcons game was completely one-sided. Atlanta tucked its feathers early and wanted no part of the Evil Empire of Foxboro.
That brings me to this weekend. If you read last week’s column, I hoped for New England beating the Falcons but we will get there, first let’s take a look at the board and find some more Overs.
Panthers at Buccaneers (-2.5, 44): Honestly this is a crazy total to me. I feel like it’s off at least 3 or 4 points. I know Carolina has had a great defense this year, but the Buccaneers are capable of stretching the field and following that up with running the ball. OVER
Texans at Seahawks (-5.5, 44.5): I am near the engine car of the Deshaun Watson train. I was onboard at Clemson and have said he had the tools to be a great NFL QB. This is a difficult matchup for him, but I think he scores enough that if Seattle wants to win they will have to keep pace. I see around a 28-24 victory for someone in this matchup. OVER
Steelers (-3, 45) at Lions: Primetime game coming off an awful game the week before; sign me up for this one. One of these two offenses puts up 30 at least, and that should get you where you want to be. OVER
Now it’s time for the main event.
Chargers at Patriots (-7, 49.5): Note the quick -7 on this game; add the fact the Chargers aren’t respected by anyone yet. They shut out the Broncos. People will say so what, Denver lost at home to the Giants. In the previous week they won an ugly game against Oakland. People will say, well the Raiders aren’t good. All fine by me. While I am a huge fan of both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, the defense doesn’t have me fooled.
I still believe last Sunday’s game, a shutout of Atlanta, told us far more about the state of the Falcons offense than a bounce back of the New England D.
The Los Angeles Road Warriors, aka Chargers without a home, could easily be 6-1 and the definite loss on the schedule to Kansas City was much closer to a 17-10 loss, in a game the Chargers were -3 in turnovers.
I am telling you, this team is on the way up so much it wouldn’t surprise me to see them slide into the playoffs at 9-7, 10-6. With all that said, I love, love this spot for L.A. CHARGERS
