Higgins and Lee snooker match may have been fixed

Nov 5, 2012 6:33 PM

There are no odds posted in Las Vegas sports books on snooker tournaments but in England gambling on the pool-like sport is big.

So, when a match is suspected or is found to have been fixed, the news attracts a lot of attention.

That’s what happened recently in a match between four-time world champion John Higgins and seventh-ranked Stephen Lee. Higgins won the match 4-2 but officials charged that Lee purposely blew the match. He has been suspended pending further inquiry.

Lee was investigated about fixing a match in 2010 but no criminal proceedings followed the investigation.
