Give Wynn's Avello an Oscar for promoting

The Wynn’s John Avello has updated his odds to win the 88th Academy Awards and made “The Revenant” an EVEN money favorite to win the Oscar for Best Picture.

From the same movie, Avello also has Leonardo DiCaprio a large favorite to win for Best Actor, which would be his first Oscar of any kind.

Of course, you can’t actually bet on the Oscars in Nevada. But Avello has been posting them for entertainment purposes over two decades and you’ve likely seen him talk on TV with “Entertainment Tonight” or “Access Hollywood” as the Oscar discussions begin to heat up.

It’s great publicity for the Wynn brand and, despite no action, the sheets are continually one of the ones reprinted out in the book.

The story of the night is going to be DiCaprio and Avello thinks his first award is a slam dunk.

“I’ve never made an actor such a favorite in the entire time I’ve been doing these odds,” said Avello, who made DiCaprio 1-to-20. “Put it this way, if we were taking action on it, the type of cash flow would be more one-sided than if the Patriots played UNLV. There’s always the possibility of something crazy happening in the voting, but I don‘t think so here.”

DiCaprio will be one of the favorites of fans flocking around the Dolby Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, as well as the greatest Oscars party in Las Vegas, which Avello hosts at his race and sportsbook every year.

He puts the Oscars on all the big screens with sound, rolls out the red carpet (literally) and lets gatherers take photos just like in Hollywood. It’s a grand show that Avello and his staff have been putting on for a decade now that allows fans in Las Vegas to watch it in style like nowhere else in town, and it’s all free.

Avello plays MC during the commercial breaks and gives away prizes for answering Oscars trivia. Some of the items routinely given away are food, beverage and show tickets. He also opens up the microphone to fans wanting to gain prizes for singing best renditions of Oscar nominated songs. It’s quite the event.

So get you and your girl dressed up for a gala event and head over to the party. See you there.
