For Las Vegas visitors and locals, it will no longer be necessary to “Dream On” as the legendary rock group Aerosmith will “Walk This Way,” towards a Las Vegas residency.
Aerosmith‘s Joe Perry has apparently confirmed that the hit-making rockers will accept an extended series of Las Vegas performance dates next year to mark the group’s 50th anniversary.
"We're gonna keep it true and honest to the heartbeat of the rock n’ roll,” Perry said during an interview this week on SiriusXM radio, reports NME (New Musical Express) a British music journalism website.
2019 marks the golden anniversary of the Steven Tyler-led band.
Guitarist Perry confirmed that they’re gearing up for a lengthy Vegas stint next year saying, “We’re going to be doing a residency in Vegas starting next spring. What we want to do is something that I haven’t seen before… just downsizing our live show, just playing in a smaller place. We want to do something different. We’re in the middle of the production now. What we’re talking about is having an experience that you wouldn’t be able to see on a regular Aerosmith tour.”
NME reports the full details of the Las Vegas residency including a venue may be disclosed Wednesday, when Aerosmith performs on NBC’s “Today” show.
According to rock n’ roll analytics calculated by NME, the group’s five members have a collective age of 337, or an average of 67.4 years per member.
It’s unknown if a “senior discount” on ticket prices will be available.
