Plaza redesigns its Royal Rewards slot program

The Plaza Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas has redesigned its Royal Rewards players club cards and restructured its tiers.

The new colored cards represent each level of the four tiers. The club’s tier names are based on a deck of cards. The starting level, Jack, is gray, Queen level is red, King is black and Ace is white. Old cards still work but players are encouraged to stop by the Royal Rewards Center to pick up a new card.

As of Jan. 1, The Plaza’s Royal Rewards program has had a few changes for 2017 but still boasts “the fastest tier advancement in downtown.” A guest will start as a Jack and, based on their points, they will climb up the tier levels, with increasing benefits at each new level. Jack, being the first level, runs from 0 to 19,999; Queen takes 20,000-39,999; King is 40,000-99,999; and Ace, the premiere card level, is anyone who obtains 100,000-plus points within a year.

Ace card holders enjoy new benefits, including free entry to slot tournaments and Super Bingo, as well as free cabanas at the Pool at the Plaza and free entry to special events and shows with VIP seating. King and Ace card holders can get their age in free slot play for their birthday month. A list of the new club benefits is available at the club booth or can be found online at

The Plaza offers guests a variety of gambling choices, including the latest penny slots, high-limit machines, classic favorites (even some old-time coin-droppers), the latest modern 3D slots and some excellent (potentially high return) video poker games. The Plaza has more than 500 slot machines and nearly two dozen table games on its 80,000 square foot casino floor, downtown’s largest race and sportsbook with 75 flat screen televisions, downtown’s only Bingo Hall, and 30,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space.

Point earning and redemption is as follows: $1 coin-in on slots and video reels as well as bingo equals one point; $3 coin-in on video poker equals one point. Table game players earn rewards and tier status based on the odds of the table game played, amount of bet and length of time played.

As an example, one hour of blackjack with an average bet of $20 will earn approximately 140 tier credits; 1,250 points equal $5 cash back or free slot play, $5 in food comps or $10 in Bingo Bucks. Points may also be used for restaurants, shows, rooms and most outlets in the hotel.

Back by popular demand, the Plaza will again offer the “50K Giveaway” this year. For every 25,000 points players will receive a ticket to the drawing, and they can keep their points to use on other options such as cash back (only for Ace tier level), free slot play, bingo bucks (bingo buy-ins) and recently added food comps. Five winners will be drawn for the 50K Giveaway on Dec. 10 (up from three winners in 2016). Eligible participants must be present to win. Prizes will be distributed as half cash and half free slot play.

The Plaza also continues to offer its “Spin to Win” promotion every night, which gives guests a chance at $1,000 in free slot play every day, and its weekly 777 slot tournament that awards $750 in free slot play. Ace level members receive a free Spin to Win ticket and one free 777 Slot Tournament entry daily. The 777 Slot Tournaments runs every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m.

The tournament awards $750 in free slot play among the top five scores of each day. Players can participate in all four sessions by redeeming 2,500 points or $10 per session. Additional details can be found online or at the Royal Rewards center at the Plaza.

New players signing up for Royal Rewards receive three drawing tickets to the daily Spin 2 Win promotion for a chance at 1,000 in free slot play and a free Plaza t-shirt after earning 15 points.
