Palms fitting in nicely as a Station

Since Palms Casino Resort was acquired by Station Casinos in October 2016, we’ve seen the integration to the Boarding Pass, yet they still operate somewhat independently from some corporate promotions and offer their own separate mailer to players.

Free slot play from Station Casinos cannot be played at the Palms. If you want a mailer from the Palms, you will need to be a player there on a regular basis. One nice change there this year has been the addition of the Gridiron Glory free football contest.

Station Casinos recently announced more than $140 million in upgrades and new offerings coming to the resort. As part of a re-imagined Palms, the following venues: Ghostbar, N9NE Steakhouse, China House, The Lounge and SOCIAL (center bar), closed on Sept. 6 to allow for new construction to take shape. During this transition NOVE Italiano will be open seven days a week and later this month they will roll out a “best of” N9NE Steakhouse menu.

Since Station acquired the Palms, it has already unveiled new offerings including the Lucky Penny Cafe, Social Table, upgrades to its meeting and convention areas, and also announced an all new casino floor along with a “food hall” buffet concept set to open in December.

In July, the Lucky Penny Café opened in place of the former 24/7 Café. The 143-seat café serves up a playful menu featuring an array of modern American cuisine with a twist of worldly flavors for breakfast, lunch and dinner – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Social Table opened in late July in the former Hooters location featuring craft beers, grilled specialties and bar favorites. The restaurant is a perfect spot for sports viewing and bar-side gaming.

Earning and transferring points between all Station, Fiesta and Wildfire Gaming properties remain the same at the Palms. Highlights of the Boarding Pass include one point per dollar on video poker, slots and video keno with the availability to immediately multiply points by three via swiping at any Rewards Kiosk.

There is a $1 cash back option for every 1,000 points earned; points redemption at more than 50 restaurants, 10 hotels, five bowling centers, seven movie theaters, two spas or for hundreds of concerts, and a five tiered status level. Points can be used at any Station, Fiesta, Wildfire Gaming property or the Palms and earning points is the same with all properties as follows:

• Video poker, slots, video keno: $1 equals one point;

• Race and sports: $1 equals one point;

• Pari-mutuel play: $1 equals 20 points;

Points can be used for free play on slots, bingo, sports or toward meals, cash back, hotel stays, salons, bars, bowling, movies and more. Tier status credits are earned as follows:

• Video poker: one credit for $1;

• Slots: three credits for $1;

• Video keno: three credits for $1;

• Race and sports: one credit for $1;

• Pari-mutuel: 10 credits for $1;

• Table games: average bet times number of hours played earns credits.

The five tier levels are Preferred (up to 999 points), Gold (1,000-39,999), Platinum (40,000-99,999), President (100,000-299,999) and Chairman (300,000 and up). Each level offers increased benefits. Players also earn points for almost all activities including dining, bowling and gift shop purchases.

All levels offer buffet cash discounts and 25-50% off point discounts at the Platinum through Chairman levels. All levels also receive gift shop discounts of 10-30% off and 3x points daily (swipe activation required for Preferred and Gold levels). At Chairman level you’ll be treated to a complimentary Princess cruise for two! Players earn their status in six-month earning periods, from Jan.-June and July-Dec., keeping your status for six months.

This month, Palms is included in the corporate-wide Wheel of Fortune Jackpots promotion. Jackpots start at $10,000 and must hit by $20,000 (at each property) – guaranteed! Plus, everyone playing with a Boarding Pass when it hits gets $5-$100 in free slot play.

Other promotions this month include a free Brenden Theatres movie ticket on Tuesdays with 300 same-day points and a free Terrible Herbst Car Wash when you earn 300 same-day points on Thursdays. Table games has a Hot Seat Giveaway Fridays and Saturdays in September.
