The Orleans Hotel and Casino is a Boyd Gaming casino resort featuring more than 1,800 newly renovated guest rooms and suites, a diverse selection of dining experiences and top entertainers performing weekly.

The Orleans offers a rich resort experience with exceptional dining options like Alder & Birch Cocktails and Dining, Ondori Asian Kitchen, and Bailiwick. The casino floor features all the hottest new slot machines and 60 table games, including blackjack, roulette, baccarat and more. Additional amenities include a 70-lane bowling alley, an 18-screen movie theater, spa, poker room, keno lounge plus a race and sportsbook.

The newest addition to gaming is the property’s all-new Virtual Zone. Guests can put their virtual reality (VR) skills to the test. The Zone is IGT’s VR platform for the casino environment that enables players to compete in spirited tournaments and enjoy competitive games. This debut marks Boyd Gaming’s first VR entertainment offering and installation on a casino floor.

Located adjacent to Bailiwick, the Virtual Zone offers two feature tournament-compatible archery games: SiegeVR and ArcheryV. Both are competition-driven virtual reality experiences that leverage HTC Vive VR technology to transport players to a competitive virtual world where they engage in a bow-and-arrow battle to defend a castle from oncoming aggressors. Player scoring is based on the number of targets hit.

Two-person teams can compete in Siege VR tournaments for $30 per team and the top daily team score wins $300 in slot dollars. Individuals can compete in Archery VR tournaments for $10 per person, and daily top scorers can win up to $125 in slot dollars. Entry fees are cash only and participants must be B Connected members to play.

“The Virtual Zone adds diversity to the casino floor and complements The Orleans’ gaming entertainment offerings,” said Matt Ryan Boyd Gaming senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “Now our B Connected players can experience the latest in VR immersive technology, while competing for slot dollar prizes.”

“IGT’s Virtual Zone and the unique content and tournament technology that supports it, delivers an entertainment experience unlike anything previously offered on casino floors,” said Nick Khin, IGT chief commercial officer, gaming. “The SiegeVR and ArcheryVR games afford players at The Orleans a competitive VR experience that accommodates skilled and novice players alike and rewards the top-performing participants.”

Virtual Zone games can be played Monday through Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m. The game schedule is Archery on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; Siege on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

B Connected is the universal slot club for Boyd Gaming, linking properties nationwide. The seven Las Vegas casinos are the Gold Coast, Orleans, Sam’s Town, Suncoast and three downtown properties, California, Fremont and Main Street Station.

There are three tier levels of B Connected, all with their own unique set of rewards and benefits. Everyone starts out as a Ruby member. After earning 25,000 points players move up to Sapphire level and 250,000 points will move you into the prestigious Emerald level. Each level offers increasing benefits a brochure is available at any club booth.

Every dollar wagered on video poker and slot machines earns one comp point. At table games each $10 increment of average wager size will earn about $1.50 in comps per hour. Comp points are worth $1 per 1,000 points for an initial cashback/comp rate of 0.10%. Sapphire level players automatically earn 2x points; Emerald players earn 3x points.

Besides the base rates, once a player becomes a member, monthly mailers often include bonus-point-day multipliers and there are usually some bonus-point days every month that are open to everyone. Be sure to swipe prior to playing as there are no point adjustments afterward.

Points at Boyd properties can be redeemed for cashback, free slot play and meals, used in the gift shops, salons, for rooms, shows and almost anything the hotels have to offer.
