A big toast to Bourbon Street Sports Bars

You may have noticed there have been several sports bars popping up around town. The popular neighborhood gaming chain Dotty’s also owns the new Bourbon Street Sports Bars.
Dotty’s is known for buying existing bars and turning them into their chain but now are looking to add food and sports bar themed locations to their franchise. I visited the newly opened Bourbon Street Sports Bar located at 4405 W. Flamingo Road. This location used to be the old Loose Caboose, but was recently purchased and completely remodeled by Dotty’s.
There are TV’s everywhere, including a very nice lounge area complete with couch seating. The TV’s are awesome with brand new flat screens everywhere. Honestly, the video wall in the lounge area is the nicest sports bar set up I have seen outside of actually being inside a sportsbook in a casino.
There’s a stadium-like menu with items you would enjoy at a ball game. Included are hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage, Polish sausage and brats. You can order nachos with chicken or fried shrimp on them. Try their Deep Fried Pickles as I really enjoyed munching on them while watching a few games.
They have a New Orleans theme so you will find some Cajun items on the menu. My buddy tried the gumbo and said it was very flavorful – not something you would expect at a sports bar. You can get a shrimp or catfish poor boy sandwich here as well.
The drinks are reasonably priced with a nice variety of frozen concoctions for you to pick from. Keeping with the New Orleans theme, for dessert you can order the Sweet Tooth, which is beignet funnel fries topped with powered sugar and chocolate or caramel sauce. They don’t take credit cards but do have an ATM machine located inside. They also have arcade games inside you can play; it is always fun to challenge your friends to shooting hoops after a few cocktails. If you are just looking to play some video poker, have a few drinks and watch the game, well, you are covered there too.
Bourbon Street Sports Bars truly are the nicest place to just hang out and watch the games. Trust me, you will be blown away with the video wall of TV’s and the comfortable lounge type area around it. I give Bourbon Street Sports Bars a rating of 3.50 forks.
