Pier 215 has something for everyone

This week I was in the mood for sushi, so we headed out to Pier 215 Seafood Sushi Grill located at 7060 S. Durango Drive. What’s nice about Pier 215 is they have something for everyone. Not everyone loves sushi, which is OK as they have chicken, steaks, pasta and regular seafood dishes.
The décor inside is very nice; I was impressed as soon as we walked in. The owner/chef is Ted Jung who worked at two of the finer restaurants in Las Vegas as he was the Master Sushi Chef at both Nobu at Caesars Palace and Yellowtail at the Bellagio.
We started off with some appetizers during Happy Hour and some of their Summer Special Rolls. They had seven rolls priced at 50 percent off on the Summer Special list; we tried two of them. The Shrimp Lovers Roll was my favorite and the other was the Umiko Roll. The Umiko had soft shell crab wrapped in an avocado ball in the center with pieces of the crab crunch rolled around the outside.
Both were very tasty and at 50 percent off both rolls came to just $16. The two appetizers we had were Sweet Chile Edamame and the Fried Zucchini. Both were extremely good, very reasonably priced and big enough to share.
Now it was time to order our entrées. My buddy was in the mood for king crab legs, so he ordered their Baked King Crab Legs served with a butter garlic sauce. The crab legs are listed at market price, which was $56 for a full pound.
I was in the mood for sushi and ordered several pieces as my entrée. My favorites were the Yellowtail, Tuna and Japanese Snapper. All the sushi was fresh and of the highest quality.
What really impressed me was the diversity of the menu. You could eat here three days in a row and have a totally different experience each time.
One of the items that looked good on the menu was the Baked Lobster Tail and Angus Beef Filet. The lobster and filet was priced at $47, well below what you would pay on the Strip. Another dish that looked good was the Cajun Shrimp Penne done in a vodka sauce. The menu there is diverse.
Pier 215 is open for lunch as well and has several specials. I found the food to be excellent and the prices very reasonable. The staff was very attentive and offered suggestions with the menu. I give Pier 215 Seafood Sushi Grill a rating of 3.75 Forks.
