The Las Vegas Strip got a new restaurant this past week and I was lucky enough to attend the private opening for media and invited guests.
ChoSun Hwaro Korean BBQ, located at 3663 S. Las Vegas Blvd. inside the Miracle Mile Shops, is now open. It is billed as the largest Korean BBQ on the Las Vegas Strip and I completely agree. The restaurant is gorgeous as they did a great job on the renovations to the space.
But what sets this restaurant apart from the other Korean BBQ places around town is the selection. ChoSun is really three different restaurants in one -- Korean BBQ, Sushi and Teppanyaki.
During my visit, I got to sample many of the items on their menu. I started with some sushi and everything that I sampled was fresh and of very high quality. I love sushi but my wife doesn’t so when I can find restaurants that offers sushi for me and other items that my wife likes it’s a win-win situation.
Lori and I love to eat Teppanyaki style dining. Watching a chef put on a show while preparing your meal makes dining an experience instead of just dinner. In the back of the restaurant they have several Teppanyaki stations. If you are going for Teppanyaki dining I would be sure to make reservations so as not to get shut out. They offer the Nara Special for $58 which is filet mignon, chicken and lobster all prepared by your Teppanyaki chef. The pricing is on par with other Teppanyaki restaurants around the city.
The main offering, as the name suggests, is the Korean BBQ. Every table has a built-in grill with overhead air vents to pull any smoke from the grill. All of the meats you order are cooked table-side hot and fresh.
For me, seeing the cooking and enjoying all of the smells of the meats is a big part of the allure of going out for Korean BBQ. All of the meats I sampled were very tasty and the meat was extremely tender. Many of the meats were marinated giving them different flavors as garlic, soy and other marinates made all the dishes so good and flavorful.
I sampled brisket, prime rib-eye steak, short ribs, and pork belly. You will not leave hungry, that I can guarantee. Being located right off Harmon Ave. at the Miracle Mile Shops makes it’s easy to stop here for dinner before a night on the Strip, shopping at the mall or before going to a show.
The entire wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I give ChoSun Hwaro Korean BBQ a rating of 3.75 Forks.
