Burgers rock at Rockhouse on NFL Game Day

Nov 6, 2019 3:00 AM

It’s Week 10 of the NFL season and this week’s stop on my 2019 Las Vegas Sports Bar World Tour brought me to The Rockhouse, located in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian at 3377 S. Las Vegas Blvd.

I love watching games in a sportsbook on the Strip. But too often all the seats are taken or the book is charging to sit and watch the games. So if I want to be on the Strip, I have a few places I like that don’t gouge on food and drink prices.

The Rockhouse, located a short walk from the Venetian’s Poker room, which I’m at quite a bit, happens to be one of my favorites. Rockhouse is more like a local dive bar compared to what you might expect to find on the Strip. Trust me, that’s a good thing.

The Rockhouse has everything you would expect in a bar. From shuffleboard to beer pong, you have a fun place to kick back and have some drinks with friends. There are three different full-service bars inside.

Want to watch a game while enjoying a cold one? Rockhouse has you covered with 80 HDTVs throughout the venue. On Thursday nights, you can join the band and sing during Rockstar Karaoke — the only full band karaoke on the Strip. On Friday and Saturday nights, Rockhouse features DJ’s spinning rock, top 40, and dance tracks.

But let’s get to the important stuff, which is the food and drink while we are watching the games. If you are craving a good burger, I highly recommend trying one of Rockhouse’s burgers. They pride themselves on the fact that all of their burgers are always fresh, as they never use frozen patties. I can tell you I have had several cheeseburgers and bacon cheeseburgers over the years here and have never been disappointed.

For those not in the mood for a burger, I would highly recommend their chicken wings. You can get an order of 10 for $9.95. Their wings have a different taste to them as they poach them in beer before frying them.

If you are in the mood to drink with friends and you want to tackle a big drink, get a “Rocktail Bowl.” They have four different ones, or you can make your own concoction. This is a 100-ounce giant cocktail to share with friends. It’s $65, but you can get an individual 16-ounce version for $12.

If you’re on the Strip, this is a great place to watch games and grab a bite to eat. I give the Rockhouse 3.75 Forks.
