Cool move by Cube offering to move Big 3 for Mayweather-McGregor

Leave it to Ice Cube to come up with the coolest way in our sweltering heat to allow the Mayweather-McGregor fight to be held Aug. 26 at  T-Mobile Arena.

The Cube has offered to relocate his 3-on-3 national basketball event, which is creating quite a buzz. It began last Sunday and be televised on Mondays on Fox Sports 1 (FS1). Ice Cube is definitely one cool dude for allowing that switch. However he’s still waiting for the fight groups to pay up to make it official.

As for the sweltering heat, the Rock was melting a bit at 117 degrees, but being a longtime resident of Las Vegas we find ways to survive. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Las Vegans are tough and certainly know how to deal with the severe temperatures.

The Electric Daisy Carnival pulled its last power juice of heat-heavy raving and was a terrific success.

The show was amazing! Pasquale Rotella – head of Insomniac – has made this the first-place music fest in North America. In the background is his gorgeous wife and mother to his children, Holly Madison, has been a Strip headliner before as Bo Peep; she is also amazing!

A Bronx Tale

J-Lo and A-Rod keep getting the heat on. Will this turn out to be the memorable relationship each of those Bronx-born kids deserve? A former N.Y. Yankees star and a Latino fusion actor, singer, overall entertainer and goddess, making it for real and permanent? I hope so – hey – I am available to do their nuptials, and I am also a Latino from the Bronx. That the ring A-Rod gave J-Lo is big!

Vegas Warriors

For one night it was like having the Golden State Warriors represent Las Vegas. A few of the Warriors were flown in to represent Oakland at the recent Andre Ward fight to give support to the Bay Area native.

I remember a preseason game I once attended here between the Lakers and Warriors. I sat right behind the Laker cheerleaders and wow – even prettier in person! But watching those hoops go in by both teams up that close was a terrific moment!

Money talks

The biggie match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor is going to be the sensation of the season – it is hot and heavy for Aug. 26. I intend to be there with my pals Lu and Ben to see up close what real boxing has evolved into. I loved Ali years ago and Mayweather is a Vegas resident as well as a superstar. All those Bentleys!

Alright, alright

Seen about town – Matthew (sexy man) McConaughey and his divine first lady, Camila. They were spotted at the Venetian. I love his work as an actor – extremely talented and takes you into his roles. He makes films great!

Also spotted was Paris Hilton, who was invisible for a while. I am happy Paris went through her wild years and came out a total winner!

Best of film

A wonderful film for canine lovers and people who believe in reaching your goal is “Megan Leavey.” The canine star was unbeatable – a German Shephard with fantastic training and abilities. This was based on a true story!

“The Book of Henry” with Naomi Watts was a bit of a tear jerker, but summer films need that genre to fill in between action/adventure films. I still adore “Wonder Woman” – saw it twice! Gal Gadot is coming up as a superstar!

Losing a friend

On another note, I am sad to report an old friend of mine from NYC, the artist and fashion designer Robert D’Elia, has passed away down in Florida. He was a great trendy designer in the 60’s and 70’s and then became an artist of noteworthy works later on. We will miss his beautiful face and dancing to Diana Ross, who was his favorite artist of all.

I caught “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” starring Johnny Depp at the Suncoast. Depp made Capt. Jack Sparrow a cult hero – from a ride at Disney to a major film franchise. Yo-ho-ho!
