We kneel down to Bark-Andre Furry!

What a week! Those Golden Knights have kept us on our golden dream! Only four more wins to the Cup!

Las Vegas certainly is a sports minded town. I have never seen such fabulous fans! And Zozo particularly likes Bark-Andre Furry, the canine impersonator of our famous goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury! What a great concept.

Speaking of concepts/ideas, in my April 24 column I suggested “Night Fever” (from “Saturday Night Fever”) become the official theme song boomed throughout the stadium. Well, producer Adam Steck and the Australian Bee Gees (love that show, it’s done beautifully) seem to have played off that suggestion by adding the word Golden to their rendition of the song.

Anka, his way

Paul Anka, a friend of mine, is joining the modern sound by teaming up with fellow Canadian Drake, a rapper, singer and songwriter. Their collaboration will be released next month. I cannot wait to hear and see this duet in action! Anka is also wowing crowds at Wynn Las Vegas with his long-awaited return to Las Vegas and approaching 60 years of fabulous hits, including Sinatra’s My Way.

Zowie Bowie, one of the most well-known local acts, is still going strong. Chris Phillips and Nieve Malandra perform at the Rocks Lounge at Red Rock Resort on Fridays (11 p.m.-2 a.m.) and at the Third Street Stage downtown on Saturdays (10 p.m. to 1 a.m.). This duo really sizzles!

Widespread Panic, the Grateful Dead-like rock group of the 80s, will be at the Park Theater close to Halloween time (Oct. 26-28, Nevada Day time, too!) Tickets are already on sale and it’s not too soon to get yours.

Van “the man” Morrison – oh, what memories he brings back – will be back at The Colosseum for five shows only, Jan. 25-Feb. 2. He is a true icon and his shows always sell out, so get your tickets before it’s too late.

The Station scene

Country band Lanco will be at Sunset Station this Saturday, May 26 … Want more country? Catch Dylan Scott at the Red Rock Resort on Friday, June 1 … For a little rock, check out Barenaked Ladies, also at Red Rock, on Saturday, June 16 …

Kansas – “Dust in the Wind,” “Carry on Wayward Son” – will be on stage at the Sunset Station on Saturday, June 2 … Also at Sunset, Junefest on Saturday, June 9 … Green Valley Ranch will have country singer Brantley Gilbert with special guest Lauren Alaina on Saturday, June 16 …

Boulder has the great blues artist Curtis Salgado on Thursday, June 7 … Also at Boulder, Commander Cody will rock on Thursday, June 21 …

Don’t miss Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine on Friday, June 29 at Red Rock … Comedian Sinbad (I first saw him on the Gong Show!) at Green Valley, July 6.

A second shot at Elton

Did you catch Sir Elton John at the Colosseum this month? If not, he will be back beginning Sept. 8. The Million Dollar Piano is a great show, one I will never forget. His talent is amazing!

Speaking of amazing, my friend Lu’s friend Harry went to England for the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He was invited to a celebration, though I am sure not in the inner royal group.

This is the type of event that should be seen at least once in your lifetime. I still remember the coronation of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. And of course, who could forget the fairytale wedding of Princess Diana to Prince Charles? That was truly amazing.

OMG! I am turning 80! I think that is pretty amazing, so sing a Happy Birthday tune for me.
