We're ready for liftoff

We are all very excited here at GamingToday as we will be launching our new website this week – completely redesigned and fully responsive. Yes, responsive. That means it will work well with your iPhone, android, computer, tablet, notebook or whatever your gizmo of choice is.

The production department and our web developers have been working very hard over the past year researching, designing, mapping, programming, testing, revising and retesting to bring you a website with a fresh, bright look, updated navigation, improved search function and cleaner lines. It is easier to read, easier to get around and easier to find things.

Our beta testers have provided us with lots of feedback so we know you will have a very positive experience when you see it and interact. However, if you have any questions, issues or trouble finding what you are looking for, give us a call at 702-798-1151 (8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. PDT). Lori, Amelia and Karla are all excellent at guiding folks through the website. If you prefer, you can send an email to support@GamingToday.com.

UFC 200, Cormier vs. Jones 2 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena Saturday night. The two competitors last met January 3, 2015. In that contest Jon “Bones” Jones won by decision, retaining his light heavyweight title. And now Daniel “DC” Cormier is back for another shot at that title. (Check out Vegas Runner, p3, for all the details.)

At press time there were still tickets available. Prices at ticket-center.com ranged from a low of $553 to a high of $20,124. Those pricey ducats (there are two of them) are on the floor in Section D, Row C. It didn’t say if they included a bottle of Dom Perignon Rose but at that price we think it should, along with a sommelier to serve it.

So, if you really want to enjoy the fight at a reasonable price, head to a Station Casinos location near you. There will be viewing parties at Palace Station (Grand Ballroom), Sunset Station (Club Madrid), Red Rock Resort (Summerlin Ballroom), Santa Fe Station (Centennial Ballroom), Boulder Station (Railhead), and Green Valley Ranch Resort (Estancia Ballroom). Doors open at 5 p.m. and admission is only a double sawbuck ($20).

There will be oversized screens providing views as good as, if not better than those $20K floor seats. Plus you will have access to some great food and drink deals.

If you are at GVR’s viewing party you will get to see UFC fighters Yair Rodriguez, John Dodson, Neil Magny and Dustin Poirier, who will sign autographs from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Sunset will have giveaways throughout the night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Station Casinos, which turns 40 this month (see p13 for deals, promos). Also, Caesars Palace, which turns 50.

See you around town.
