Never tired of Celine at Colosseum

This week in Las Vegas, life is beautiful. A lot of acts and no celebrity arrests (that I know of), and the weather has rated from extraordinary to perfection. Yes, life is moving happily without a hitch.
And everything became even better when Celine Dion, my lovely, returned from her tour in Europe, especially her string of sold out shows in Paris, where her concerts eclipsed all sorts of box office records.
She began her latest series of shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace last week. Tickets are also available for her Thanksgiving week performances on Nov. 21-22 and 24-25.
I’ve seen Celine’s show about 20 times. She’s spectacular and always fills The Colosseum – nearly 4,300 seats!
Your columnist just loves a sexy show, and I can’t conjure up a better one than “Sexxy” at The Westgate.
Perhaps the Shimmer Cabaret theatre would be better named “Simmer” because producer Jennifer Romas has turned up the thermostat with one of the top topless revues ever witnessed in Vegas.
She not only pieced together this hot-hot-hot, erotic cast, she also performs and is the chief choreographer for a stylish, energy-filled show worthy of its long run. The show includes singing, dancing, comedy and a touch of magic and marvels found in the circus.
What I like about Jennifer is how gracious she is to her audience; she holds meet-and-greets with her patrons following every show. And she’s always been gracious toward me and this column -- I love you so much, Jen.
Recently, she was part of a media gathering to unveil the launch of her own slot machine – talk about hitting the jackpot! My friend David Siegel, owner of Westgate, has prominently placed three of these Sexxy slots at the entrance to the theatre for all to enjoy.
It’s great to finally see a show with staying power filling the room at Westgate. This hasn’t happened since the day of the Las Vegas Hilton when the room was filled nightly by fans of Barry Manilow.
Sexxy runs Wednesday through Sunday at 10 p.m.
My new Monti Minute podcast will soon become available.
Recorded from my living room in my luxurious abode, the first program will announce details on my new recording contract -- I’m performing again!
That’s why I continue to be a great fan of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” And I loved Simon Cowell from “American Idol” with host Ryan Seacrest, which moves to ABC-TV this season. Both remind of my days on “The Merv Griffin Show” and “The Tonight Show” starring Johnny Carson.
I once thought about hosting a reality talent competition show, but it would be tough competing against today’s talent programs. So I would do one better: “America’s Got No Talent.” It wouldn’t be like “The Gong Show,” but would feature people with charisma.
That’s what determines the winners on AGT and Idol. You can have all the talent in the world, but without charisma, people can’t relate to you or your talent.
Recent AGT winner Darci Farmer, a 12-year-old, singing ventriloquist is someone with charisma. Darci will soon join The Terry Fator Show at The Mirage.
Terry, an original AGT million-dollar winner from Season No. 2, also does an act of throwing his voice. I’m sure the man from Dallas will be glad to aid in the development of the little lassie.
Settle for Electric
In other news, there was nothing to wow about in regards to the anticipated mega-show “Wow!” at The Rio. The expected “splash” of the water-themed variety show was cancelled opening night due to technical difficulties.
But you will get plenty of wow at the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Tickets are now on sale. Just take note that show dates are now May 18-20 instead of Memorial Day Weekend.
Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella listed Electric Forest, Beyond Wonderland, and Escape Psycho Circus among the EDC headliners. He also noted that campsites, RVs, sound camps, and more (shuttle service) will be allowed for the first time ever at EDC Las Vegas 2018. He said you can just, “Wake up and walk in.”
• Nine Inch Nails, hailed by Billboard as “one of rock’s greatest live bands” is bringing their explosive live set to Las Vegas for a performance at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, Oct. 20. Tickets are on sale.
Mother Nature has been tough on Texas, Florida and Mexico this month, and now my ancestral homeland in Puerto Rico has been hit by a hurricane, too. NBA basketball star Carmelo Anthony has spearheaded a relief fund campaign through YouCaring.com with a $50,000 donation. These people need a great deal of help. Please check it out and donate if you can.
