Noting that he should have no trouble filling the dance floor, The New York Post reports Sir Elton John has canceled two Las Vegas concerts in May so he can attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
Sir Elton had indicated to the media last month that he was eager to be at the ceremony, to be held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, and was just waiting for his official invitation.
The “Rocket Man” was schedule to play concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19, but will now jet back to England instead for the Saturday ceremony. A close friend of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, John was among a handful of celebrities attending Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011.
It was the same venue where he famously sang “Candle in the Wind” at Diana’s funeral in 1997.
