Massachusetts is expected to go live with online sports betting in March 2023. Look for Betr to be among the first official launches in the state. 

Betr’s Growth Trajectory

Betr was founded in 2022, making it one of the newest players in the real money sports betting landscape. Joey Levy and social media influencer Jake Paul are the founders. In a short time, Betr has made a name for itself.

The company seems most interested in bringing real money wagering to newly legal sports betting markets. It’s a smart move, in our opinion, because launching in an already mature market like New Jersey or Pennsylvania makes it difficult to compete with the likes of DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and other big names. Launching in new markets gives Betr a foothold that would be costly to gain elsewhere. 

If it’s successful in Massachusetts and Ohio, we expect Betr to make moves toward other legal markets — new and old.

Overall, Betr is a strong new contender on the sports betting scene. Its mobile-first design and consideration of new or casual sports fans makes it an app to watch. Our Betr Sportsbook review, for now, only includes info from the Ohio app, but it’s soon coming to Massachusetts as well. 

Availability is the only major downside to Betr right now. It’s live in Ohio and MA is on the way. There’s a chance it could come to other states in the future, but we don’t know for sure whether that’ll happen yet.
