Caesars Sportsbook
Only BetMGM challenges Caesars Sportsbook‘s user experience for MLB betting.
The dashboard, menus, and betslip are simple but surprisingly powerful and user-friendly. For example, you can see at a glance which games have injury updates, see broadcast information for each game from the daily schedule screen, and access SGP bets from the first screen.

FanDuel Sportsbook
FanDuel has the most game and player prop markets available for MLB games. Expect at least 45 categories of props for every single contest. You’ll usually find more than 200 betting markets for each game. If you want to wager on how many strikeouts both teams will record in a specific inning, FanDuel Sportsbook will have it. We’re also impressed with the player props’ depth for your average MLB game. Not just home runs, hits, and strikeout markets, but you’ll also typically find walks, total bases, steals, plus other stat categories.
FanDuel is one of the top online sports betting apps in the US for a reason. It has the highest aggregate app rating of the products our baseball experts tested, with over 2 million reviews.
FanDuel is available in AZ, CO, DC, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, VT, VA, WV & WY.

BetRivers Sportsbook
BetRivers Sportsbook usually has 120+ betting markets to choose from for each baseball game. We are less impressed with the user interface. The mobile app feels a bit dated, especially compared to other MLB betting apps. However, there is enough here to keep a baseball fan happy, including live betting and a nifty in-app embedded “Gamecenter” that feeds the pitches and per-at-bat outcomes in real-time.
The BetRivers app has the fewest reviews on the App Store and Google Play Store, which makes it more difficult to determine how much baseball fans like this mobile product.
BetRivers is available in the following states: AZ, CO, IL, IN, IA, LA, MD, MI, OH, NJ, NY, PA, VA & WV.

bet365 Sportsbook
Using bet365 feels a lot like logging on to an investment app. The screens are dotted with stats, and it looks like we’re diving into the performance of our 401K. We love the deep data. We also love that every MLB game has a boosted same-game parlay. Other apps offer a parlay boost and call it “special.” At bet365 Sportsbook, it’s business as usual.
bet365 ranks among the best MLB betting apps in the states where it operates, including Louisiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New Jersey, Colorado, Ohio, Iowa, and Virginia.

DraftKings Sportsbook
DraftKings is an official betting partner of MLB and several teams. There is much to like about the DraftKings mobile app. However, we wish it offered an easier way to research the game and player props. DraftKings needs a better interface that allows customers to sort, find, and analyze betting markets.
DraftKings is available in these states: AZ, CO, CT, DC, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, TN, VT, VA, WV & WY.

Fanatics Sportsbook
Fanatics Sportsbook is a newer operator in the MLB betting space. That doesn’t mean this baseball betting app can’t perform. There’s much to like from Fanatics, including live streaming, the FanCash rewards program, an easy-to-use app interface, tons of MLB props, and more.
Fanatics is legal in AZ, CO, CT, IA, IN, IL, KY, KS, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TN, VT, VA, WV, WY.

What To Look for in MLB Betting Apps
Gaming Today ranks betting apps on various factors, including sign-up bonuses, fast payouts, the quality of MLB odds, the time it takes to execute a live baseball bet, and the number of player props available.
We also consider security, customer service, and other key criteria to ensure only the best MLB sportsbooks are recommended.
We’ve highlighted some of the country’s best and most established sportsbooks, including sign-up bonus details for each sportsbook in this review.
However, for the best betting experience, Gaming Today recommends that you open an account at more than one sportsbook. Multiple accounts allow you to compare the best odds for all of your bets during the MLB season. Plus, you have a chance to cash in on more than one sign-up bonus.
Sportsbooks use analysts to set the odds you see, so opinion still influences their decisions. Other factors can change the odds as you check with multiple operators to make a bet.
- Timing — Player availability, weather forecasts, and other factors can influence the expected outcome of a game. Some companies will be a little faster to update the odds based on recent developments. Other companies might overreact to new information.
- Competition — Make no mistake; sports betting experts monitor their competitors. Sportsbooks often offer slightly more favorable odds to attract your business.
- Specialized offers and odds — Instead of a bonus, sportsbooks sometimes reward customers by boosting the odds and potential payouts for an upcoming event.
Futures odds (including to win the World Series) can offer some of the best variety. Let’s compare the midseason World Series odds as an example. All figures are based on a $100 bet.
Team to Win the World Series | BetMGM Moneyline | Caesars Moneyline |
---|---|---|
Houston Astros | +800 | +700 |
Baltimore Orioles | +1400 | +1500 |
A Houston Astros bet carries better value at BetMGM because a bettor will win $800 if Houston claims the MLB crown. The same bet at Caesars wins $700.
However, a Baltimore Orioles bet carries more value at Caesars, where the wager pays $1,500 if the O’s win the World Series. The same wager at BetMGM wins $100 less.
The best MLB sportsbooks offer several betting options for baseball. We covered futures above, but let’s look at the full list here:
- Run Lines
- Totals
- Moneylines
- First 5 Innings (F5)
- Live Bets
- Props
- Parlays
- Teasers
Sportsbooks offer regular promotions throughout the 2024 regular season and playoffs. You can also collect exciting offseason offers as a new campaign approaches.
Late summer sign-ups have some merit, too. Companies pump out sign-up offers to encourage new NFL bettors, but your first-time bonus can, in most cases, be used for baseball betting.
The pitch clock has reduced the downtime for live baseball betting, so you’ll want a site that is easy, fast, and trouble-free.
Sportsbooks release new odds as each inning concludes. The best MLB betting sites — like BetMGM and Caesars — feature some of the best-in-class experiences with quick oddsmakers and terrific live betting experiences.
The best free MLB sportsbook apps are available in many legal betting states. We have researched the availability of every app to help baseball bettors know what they have access to in their location.
Top baseball betting sites offer customer support through online chat, email, and phone. Try the “live chat” option first. It can be the most efficient selection when you have a question or need assistance.
Common Types of MLB Bets
Once you’ve signed up, it’s time to place baseball bets. The most popular types of MLB bets include run lines, moneylines, and totals, but there are fun ways to bet on every aspect of the game.
Run lines
Run lines are called point spreads in other sports and are a very common type of bet. If the Cubs are a 1.5-run favorite, it will appear as (-1.5) in any game information. With a -1.5 bet on the Cubs, winning the game isn’t enough. The team must win by at least 1.5 runs for your -1.5 bet on the Cubs to pay out.
If the Mets are 1.5-run underdogs, the spread will appear as (+1.5). This means you can win on a Mets bet even if New York’s NL team loses the game. They can’t lose by two runs or more, though. A one-run loss is fine at +1.5 because the Mets covered the spread.
Most run lines are set with half-run odds — the hook — to establish a clear winner and loser. If the Mets’ spread is +2 and they lose by two runs, that’s a push at the sportsbook. You get your money back, but you don’t win anything.
Moneyline
Moneyline bets are among the most common wagers a bettor can make. They’re often the first numbers you see when exploring baseball betting lines for the MLB game you have in mind.
Numbers for favorites and underdogs are based on a $100 system, but you can place a bet for other amounts.
An underdog will have a “+” symbol. So, a bet on the White Sox to win at +125 means you’ll win $125 on a $100 bet.
Favorites will have a “–” symbol. If the Diamondbacks are -140 to win, you would need to risk $140 to win $100.
Gaming Today’s moneyline calculator is easy to use. It can help you with the math based on amounts other than $100.
First Three-Inning (F3) and First Five-Inning Bets
This MLB wager revolves around the first three innings or the first five innings of a game. The goal is to pick which side will lead once the first three innings (F3) or first five (F5) are in the books. Click on the game you have in mind to find the F3 or F5 run lines. Ties are possible for this type of bet, so use our three-way calculator to research your potential payout.
Totals
Moneylines and spreads ask you to pick a team that meets the betting expectations. A total — also called the Over/Under — is a bet on the final score regardless of who wins.
An MLB total might look like this:
O 8.5 (-110)
U 8.5 (-110)
You’ll need to risk $110 to win $100 on the number of runs scored. If you bet the Over, a 6-3 outcome wins because the final score adds up to 9 runs. The Under wins if the final score adds up to 8 runs or less.
Props
Prop bets are wagers that have nothing to do with a game’s outcome. Examples include:
Blake Snell strikeouts:
O 7.5 (-140)
U 7.5 (+110)
Shohei Ohtani hits:
O 1.5 (-140)
U 1.5 (+110)
If you think Snell will strike out at least eight hitters, a $140 bet on the over wins $100. A $100 under bet on Shohei Ohtani means you think he’ll have one hit or less. You’d win $110 based on the moneyline.
Futures
Futures bets are high-risk, high-reward wagers focusing on a long-term betting market instead of a game.
The lines are typically displayed in a moneyline format. A trade deadline LA Dodgers bet to win the World Series sits at +450. So, a $100 bet would win $450 at the sportsbooks you use for MLB futures bets.
But you don’t have to bet on an eventual champion.
The same sportsbook may have a “Padres to make the playoffs” or “Astros to win the AL West” bet for the ongoing season.
Many sportsbooks work with state regulators to add other betting options as well including:
- Live betting
- Round robin bets
- Parlays
- Same-game parlays
- Teasers
- Early cashouts
Be smart about how you bet. For more information, see our responsible gaming page.
Odds at MLB Sportsbooks
Any baseball fan who plans to enjoy the MLB playoffs by betting on games should examine the odds first.
Use the table below to find the best lines across different betting sites. The odds are updated every day of the season and playoffs.
Payment Methods at MLB Betting Sites
The best MLB betting sites offer a variety of payment methods for deposits and withdrawals. Some states do not allow you to use a credit card like Visa or MasterCard for a sportsbook deposit, and you might face fees when using a credit card as well. Keep that in mind. The cash advance interest rate will be a factor when you review your betting budget.
Other options include:
- Online banking
- PayPal (There are several PayPal sports betting sites as it is one of the most popular and widely used online payment methods in the world)
- Visa/MasterCard debit cards
- ACH (e-Check)
- Wire transfer
- PayNearMe
States With Legal MLB Betting
No states with legal sports betting restrict baseball (MLB) betting.
You can wager on game props, player props, futures, and submit same-game parlays (SGPs) in any jurisdiction with legal MLB betting sites.
Here, we break down some markets where you can expect to find several options for legal baseball wagers.
Florida
MLB fans can bet on every game featuring popular teams like the Miami Marlins and the Tampa Bay Rays at Florida sports betting apps. Hard Rock Bet FL offers a strong selection of MLB markets, including the moneyline, total runs, run line, alternative lines, pitcher props, batter props, game props, same-game parlays (SGPs), and more.
Illinois
The leading IL sportsbooks offer competitive odds and a wide selection of markets on every MLB game throughout the season. Baseball fans can place pre-game and live bets on games featuring the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox. There are also many MLB promos available in Illinois, such as FanDuel’s “Dinger Tuesdays” bonus.
Kentucky
Kentucky sportsbook apps launched in September 2023. There are now eight to choose from, so baseball bettors can shop around for the best odds before wagering on an MLB game. Some sports betting apps in Kentucky also offer live MLB streaming, including BetMGM and FanDuel Sportsbook KY.
Maryland
The best MD sportsbook apps make it quick and easy for Marylanders to wager on popular teams such as the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals. There are also land-based sportsbooks in the Old Line State, but most bettors find it easier and more convenient to use sports betting apps.
Massachusetts
Baseball betting is popular at the top Mass sportsbooks, including DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and Caesars Sportsbook. They all take a reasonably low house edge on their MLB moneylines, but it’s important to shop around for the best odds before betting on baseball games in Massachusetts.
Michigan
MI sportsbook apps have been taking legal wagers on MLB games since they were cleared to launch in 2021. The best apps offer a wide range of pre-game betting options whenever the Detroit Tigers are in action. Some also offer live MLB streaming, so you can watch a Tigers game unfold on the app while considering your in-play betting options.
North Carolina
North Carolina does not have its own MLB franchise, but many baseball fans in the Tar Heel State cheer for the Atlanta Braves. You can bet on all their games at the top North Carolina sportsbooks, such as bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, Fanatics Sportsbook, and FanDuel. They also offer large sign-up bonuses and weekly promos for baseball bettors.
Pennsylvania
Baseball takes center stage at PA sportsbook apps during the summer months. You can often find odds boosts on games featuring the Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates at top betting apps like BetRivers, bet365, and Caesars Sportsbook. They also offer a broad choice of betting markets, including pre-game bets, live bets, parlays, SGPs, round robins, and futures wagers.
MLB Betting Apps FAQ
BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook stand out as the best options for baseball bettors. All MLB betting sites reviewed in this guide are legal and reputable platforms.
Each state has different rules, but in most states, you must be at least 21 years of age to register and wager on Major League Baseball. Check the rules and regulations for the state you are located in.
If you seek higher odds and higher possible payouts, a parlay might be for you. Be advised that parlays are tough to win because they involve longer odds than single-event wagers.
The +150 is from the American odds format. If you see +150 odds in your MLB sports betting app, a successful $100 wager will pay $150, plus your original stake.
The pace of baseball is great for live betting, but run lines are available well before the first pitch. You can also place futures bets at any point throughout the offseason, regular season, and playoffs.
