Not every brand is here yet. Companies like Fanatics and Hard Rock Bet hadn’t announced Alberta plans as of launch day, and a handful of registered operators are still working through their AiGC agreements, with a compliance grace period running until October 13 for those that need it.
AGLC vs. AiGC: Who Actually Runs This Market

None of that guarantees Alberta becomes Ontario overnight. It has a smaller population, and it remains to be seen how many of the estimated 70% of grey-market bettors actually migrate to licensed platforms rather than sticking with the offshore sites they already trust. But the infrastructure, the operator count, and the day-one protections are all pointing toward a serious, long-term market rather than a soft launch.
