Uruguay will bring a few young stars of their own to this tournament, including Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez, Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde, Barcelona center back Ronald Araujo, and PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte. Uruguay have played well since appointing Marcelo Bielsa as manager in 2023, with an impressive 4-1-1 record to date in their 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
