Rush Street Interactive (RSI), the company behind BetRivers, just made a move that could change how players fund their gaming accounts forever.

The operator announced a new partnership with BurraPay, a cryptocurrency payments company specializing in compliant, secure solutions for the regulated gaming industry.

The agreement marks the first major crypto integration for a US online casino operator, blending two fast-growing worlds: iGaming and digital currency.

A First-of-Its-Kind Partnership

The deal will bring BurraPay’s crypto payment technology directly into RSI’s BetRivers platform, allowing players to gamble using cryptocurrency once regulatory approvals are in place. The rollout will happen gradually, state by state, to stay aligned with local gaming laws.

For RSI, the move aligns with its reputation for being among the most forward-thinking brands in the industry. The company was one of the first to launch in several regulated states and has built a loyal following through its BetRivers, PlaySugarHouse, and RushBet brands. By adding a crypto option, RSI is betting that modern players want more flexibility in managing their gaming wallets.

BurraPay co-founder and CTO Luke Millanta called the partnership a milestone for the industry, saying it proves crypto payments can be “delivered in a compliant, player-friendly, and scalable way.”

His enthusiasm isn’t just marketing talk. BurraPay has spent years building systems that meet the same strict standards regulators apply to traditional banking, which could make cryptocurrency a legitimate alternative in an industry that’s historically cautious about payment innovation.

Why This Matters for Online Gaming

The integration of crypto into regulated online casinos has been a hot topic for years, but it rarely moves beyond speculation. The challenge has always been compliance. Regulators want assurance that funds are traceable and that anti-money laundering (AML) safeguards are airtight. BurraPay’s entire business model focuses on solving those exact issues.

By partnering with a major name like RSI, BurraPay gets a chance to prove its platform works at scale. It also gives BetRivers Casino a competitive edge in appealing to a new audience—players who already use crypto in other parts of their lives and want the same convenience when they gamble online.

For the average player, this could mean faster deposits, fewer transaction fees, and an added layer of privacy. It also reflects a shift in how gaming companies think about technology.

Instead of viewing crypto as a regulatory risk, RSI is treating it as an opportunity to improve the customer experience.

A Shared Focus on Compliance and Player Trust

Both companies emphasized that compliance remains the top priority. RSI CEO Richard Schwartz noted that BurraPay’s “compliance-first approach perfectly aligns with our values and regulatory commitments.”

The message is clear: this isn’t a wild leap into the world of unregulated crypto betting—it’s a carefully managed expansion within the rules of licensed gaming.

RSI has built its reputation on trust and responsible gaming. The operator has earned numerous awards, including multiple EGR North America honors and accreditation from the Responsible Gaming Council.

That history of player protection makes it a fitting partner for BurraPay, which aims to bridge the gap between crypto and regulation without compromising either side.

What Comes Next

The rollout will depend heavily on state-level approval, so players shouldn’t expect to see crypto payments everywhere overnight. Still, the fact that one of America’s biggest iGaming operators is taking this step is a strong signal about where the industry is heading.

Crypto has long been a buzzword in tech circles, but until now, its place in US online casinos has been more theory than reality. This partnership changes that narrative. If it succeeds, other major operators will likely follow, leading to a future where gaming chips and Bitcoin gambling might coexist.

The BurraPay-RSI agreement isn’t just about adding another way to deposit funds—it’s about redefining how digital payments fit into regulated gaming. It’s a cautious step forward, but also an exciting one that could set the tone for the next chapter in the evolution of online casinos.
