Just weeks before its third-quarter earnings call, DraftKings has appointed Christian H. A. Bogstrand as executive vice president and general manager of iGaming.
Bogstrand announced his appointment on LinkedIn, expressing excitement about joining DraftKings and describing it as a place where he can “thrive and continue growing.”
“From the fantastic teams to a strong in-house technology foundation and a company-wide focus on delivering best-in-class player experiences, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to a business that’s scaling with purpose,” he said.
Bogstrand joins DraftKings after a nearly three-year tenure as CEO of online gaming firm Lucky7 Venture, where he oversaw product launches in Ontario, Mexico, and Sweden.

Before his role at Lucky7 Venture, Bogstrand spent 12 years at bet365. He joined the company in November 2008 as a poker manager, advancing to manager of games and poker, head of games and poker, and, in August 2014, chief executive officer and head of gaming.
As CEO and head of gaming, he oversaw legal gaming launches in 11 jurisdictions. He also managed key areas of bet365’s casino, live casino, games, poker, and bingo verticals, according to his LinkedIn profile.
DraftKings is the largest US-focused gaming operator Bogstrand has worked for. The iGaming role attracted him, in part, because of the company’s direction.
“When I first connected with DraftKings, I met a group of founders and leaders who were welcoming, focused, and deeply motivated to keep raising the bar,” he said. “That energy and sense of purpose made the decision to come on board easy.”

DraftKings will host its Q3 earnings call at 8:30 a.m. EST on Nov. 7. The company is likely to highlight Bogstrand’s appointment and his potential contributions to its iGaming division.
The call will also provide insight into the company’s online gaming revenue for July, August, and September.
DraftKings operates legal online casinos in five states: Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. These states are the top iGaming revenue producers in the US market. In each, FanDuel is the primary competitor, with DraftKings and FanDuel typically accounting for at least 65% of a state’s total online casino revenue.
