DraftKings Becomes Exclusive Sportsbook Provider Of Oregon Lottery

DraftKings is replacing Scoreboard as the exclusive sportsbook provider of the Oregon Lottery beginning next week, Tuesday, Jan. 18.

The agreement announced Wednesday makes Oregon the second state to have an exclusive sports betting deal with DraftKings. DraftKings has been the lone legal mobile sports betting platform in New Hampshire since 2019.

When DraftKings goes live in the state, Oregon bettors will be able to place same-game parlay bets, which isn’t an option with Scoreboard. Starting Jan. 18, current Scoreboard customers can create a DraftKings account and transfer existing funds to the new account.

DraftKings acquired SBTech, a sports betting technology provider, in 2o19. Scoreboard uses that same technology.

“We’re excited about the improved experience for our players – including the ability to make same game parlay bets,” Barry Pack, Oregon’s lottery director, said in a statement. “DraftKings is a premier provider in the US.

“We see benefits for (Oregon, as well), as the shift to DraftKings means fewer third-party service providers and a simpler financial structure for player accounts.”

How Will The Migration To DraftKings Work?

Scoreboard’s app will function as usual until the migration to DraftKings begins. Most functionality on the Sportsbook app will end following the migration.

Bettors, though, will still have access to their transaction histories, account information, and the withdraw facility for six months post-transition. And if you’ve placed a futures bet, all open bets will remain in Scoreboard accounts until settled.

“DraftKings is thrilled to embark on this journey with the Oregon Lottery as we build out a coast-to-coast presence with our top-rated online sportsbook for these fans to experience ahead of the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl,” Paul Liberman, DraftKings’ co-founder and President Global Technology and Product said in a statement.

“The Oregon Lottery shares our innovative spirit as one of the most progressive organizations in the real-money gaming sector, and together we look forward to delivering the exceptional online sportsbook products that Oregonians have been anticipating.”

DraftKings said it will continue focusing on environmental campaigns in the state. The company has funded the planting of one million trees by Earth Day 2022 in conjunction with the Arbor Day Foundation. That includes funding the planting of over 110,000 trees in Oregon to aid in fire rehabilitation efforts.

Be On The Lookout For Promo Offers

A check of the “Promotions” tab on Scoreboard’s website didn’t turn up any offers on Jan. 12. DraftKings is noted for its plentiful promotions, so that’s something bettors should look for prior to creating their accounts.

In New Hampshire, where DraftKings has exclusivity via the state’s lottery, it is currently offering a 20% deposit match up to $1,000 in site credits.
