A company that scratched out pre-World War I stats on paper will now curate sports betting stats in a world of AI and algorithms. The Elias Sports Bureau, bet365 partnership announced Thursday will give the sportsbook access to Elias insights, research, and products.
“For over 100 years, Elias Sports Bureau has maintained a sterling reputation in the sports statistics world,” bet365 said in its announcement. The company hopes the relationship will add to a “Never Ordinary” experience for its sports betting customers.
“Elias is excited to partner with bet365 and deliver a first-of-its-kind experience for its users,” Elias Sports Bureau President Joseph Gilston said. “Elias will provide custom content that provides context and history to the betting experience. bet365 has been an amazing partner, and we look forward to engaging customers in a new way.”
bet365 Sportsbook will add information from Elias as it promotes its sportsbook through social media and partner outreach.

Elias Sports Bureau was originally called Al Munro Elias Baseball Bureau, Inc. Al Munro and his brother Walter printed scorecards with baseball stats and sold them directly to fans.
Within three years, the New York Telegram daily newspaper ran a weekly compilation of Elias’ baseball stats.
In 1952, new owner Seymour Siwoff changed the name to the Elias Sports Bureau to underscore the company’s expansion into all major sports.
