Fanatics Betting & Gaming has partnered with Boyd Gaming to bring legal sports betting to Missouri. As a result, gamblers in the state will now have access to physical sportsbooks along with online sports betting opportunities.

According to the agreement, Fanatics Sportsbook will operate under Boyd’s license, allowing it to offer services in Missouri once the market officially launches in December 2025. However, the implementation of this partnership remains subject to approval by the Missouri Gaming Commission’s licensing board.

Statewide Access and Two Retail Locations

Fanatics Sportbook will provide mobile sports betting statewide, utilising Boyd Gaming market access. Customers will be able to use one app to place bets anywhere in Missouri once the operations begin. The partners will also open retail sportsbooks at the Boyd properties in Missouri: the Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City, and the Ameristar Casino Hotel and Spa St. Charles near St. Louis.

Each of the locations will be a full-service book offering teller windows, kiosks, and seating to watch games. Additionally, these venues will be equipped to serve fans on both sides of the state.

The legal markets to be offered include professional and college sports across:

  • Basketball
  • Golf
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Baseball
  • Tennis
  • Soccer
  • MMA
  • Boxing and so on

The trading teams within Fanatics manage the odds and market-making. Centralised trading aims to maintain consistency between the retail counters and the mobile platform. With this system, customers will see the same lines, regardless of whether they are in a physical betting house or playing online.

Targeting a December Launch

Missouri regulators are targeting a go-live date of December 1, 2025, giving the state a solid date to work toward. Fanatics Sportsbook, in cooperation with Boyd Gaming, is planning to launch the operations of both the mobile and the retail sectors on that date, as soon as it receives the approval of the Missouri Gaming Commission.

Once approved, currently restricted bettors will have access to Fanatics sportsbook features in Missouri. They will be able to download the Fanatics Sportsbook app on their mobile devices. This schedule coincides with the regulatory timeline of the state. It would ensure that Fanatics makes a successful and early entry into the market.

Missouri’s Expanding Sports Betting Market

In November 2024, legal sports betting in Missouri was approved through Amendment 2, which was passed by the narrowest possible majority of 50.05%. The latter turned Missouri into the 39th state to legalize betting on athletics. The amendment established a strict deadline of December 1, 2025, for the commencement of retail and mobile betting, with a 10% tax placed on the state’s gross wagering revenue.

With the state ready to launch, the Missouri Gaming Commission has issued the only two untethered mobile wagering licenses available to DraftKings and Circa Sports. These enable them to operate without the need for collaboration with a casino or professional sports club.

FanDuel, which did not take the direct route, has ensured market access with a partnership with St. Louis CITY SC. BetMGM has also entered into an agreement of this nature with Century Casinos. But state-licensed operators such as Caesars, bet365, and PENN/ESPN BET will likely launch through a partnership with a Missouri casino or sports team.

Fanatics has now become the eighth operator to plan its entry into the market. This approach will enable both mobile and physical betting in Missouri, utilising Boyd Gaming’s indirect license.

Fanatics’ Competitive Edge

Fanatics has expanded quickly with an increasing number of retail stores across the country. It currently operates its sportsbook in 22 states and the District of Columbia. In 2024, the company renewed its pace of growth following the conclusion of its acquisition of the U.S. operation of PointsBet. This acquisition brought new tech, customers, and human resources to Fanatics Betting and Gaming.

The sportsbook will introduce a rewards-based system through FanCash, allowing players to earn credit on qualifying bets and purchases, which can be redeemed across Fanatics’ platforms. Fanatics also offers perks like Fair Play and leverages large-scale events to create an exciting experience for fans.

Boyd Gaming’s Role and Market Strategy

Boyd Gaming celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025. It operates 28 gaming and entertainment properties across ten U.S. states. Through Boyd Interactive, it also manages an online casino.

In mid-2025, Boyd sold their equity ownership (5%) in FanDuel to Flutter Entertainment for around $1.76 billion. This liquidity generated a significant improvement in its balance sheet and increased strategic flexibility.

Under this transition, Boyd is concentrating on re-investing in its traditional properties and finding new openings. That approach is reflected in the Missouri deal with Fanatics, who will utilise their licensing roster to get the state operational in sports betting.

What Missouri Bettors Can Expect

Once the sports betting market opens in MO, bettors will enjoy statewide mobile wagering opportunities. If their gambling application is approved, Fanatics will provide retail sportsbooks in Kansas City and St. Charles.

Also, the sportsbook will offer FanCash rewards, Fair Play injury protection, and exclusive experiences.
